Can I have a ppp
I went for an ultrasound scan to check for cysts on my overies today (I have all signs of PCOS) when I was being scanned the Dr asked me when my last period was to which I told her 8 years ago due to having the merina coil in. She looked confused and asked me if I was sure I had a coil as she couldn’t find it 🤦♀️ I told her yes it’s my 2nd one which was done 3 years ago, I’ve had 3 previous c-sections so she was struggling to see due to the scaring but she thinks she located it a lot lower down in a place a coil shouldn’t be, but she wasn’t totally sure, she advised me to use a different form of contraception in the mean time until they can locate, remove and replace my coil if I wish. My gp is calling me back tomorrow as I called them to ask for the mini pill. Basically I just wanted to know if anyone has had anything similar happen and if so what was the outcome? I’m petrified the coil is going to be stuck where it shouldn’t be 😭 and the process of removing it ect, will it just be removed how they removed my expired one 3 years ago or could there be further complications? Any advice would be appreciated thank you x

I had an ultrasound for cysts, and they found my coil 2.2cm away from where it should be, I have the coil removed and put a new one in. They originally thought this was what was causing my pain, but now have decided it’s the cysts causing my pain. I haven’t had any issues with my coil since, I had a scan to check it hadn’t moved again – which it hadn’t. The coil moves out of its correct place a lot more often than they tell you. I haven’t had any issues around the coil (cysts are another story though!) it is more likely the coil will move again, but luckily it hasn’t happened to me. I hope this helps 🙂 x
I’ve had a coil for 4 years. I have a titled pelvis and they almost always struggle to find mine on both external and internal ultrasound. the threads are short too so can’t feel them myself. it’s definitely in there just likes to hide 😂😂
Whats thw symptoms please as I am waiting for an ultrasound on my pelvis to check ovaries etc x
When I had Mine years ago, it got “lost” had to wait about 6 weeks for an ultrasound and it was definitely there so god knows what happened! Hopefully you get the same results! X
