It’s absolutely a good thing to put your baby to sleep on their back, as it helps prevent SIDS. However, it’s important to be aware that this sleeping position increases the risk of the skull being flattened at the back – either in the center or on one side. Fortunately, there’s a lot we can do to prevent this. I recommend that, right from birth, you create a system where your baby alternates between sleeping with their head turned to the right and left sides. In this video, I show you how to gently help your baby turn their head. Notice how I do it in stages and move very slowly to make sure your baby feels safe and comfortable. If you find it difficult to position your baby’s head to one side or away from the middle, simple everyday adjustments and cozy exercises can help your baby learn to feel comfortable lying on both sides. Feel free to use my exercise programs for this. If your baby prefers the middle, check out the program “Develobaby – Back Arching and Flat Head”. If your baby prefers one side, try “Develobaby – Preferred Side”. Find the programs via link in bio or directly on my website develobaby.com 🤍 With love, Maria ♥️ . . . #preferredside #flathead #motordevelopment #babymovement #plagiocephaly #flatheadprevention
