Hi all can I get some advice or something.
My partner & I have been together 3 years. When we first got together about a month in she told me “the way you feel about me, my ex still does too”
I knew they had a business together & a couple of rental properties. Her ex would get in contact if she needed something or vice versa but I wasn’t aware of the contact. Once I seen her ex had tried calling so I hit her up. I was under the impression that my partner had decided to walk away from everything & sign it all over. Long story short – I told my partner I was uncomfortable with them keeping contact, especially after being told she’d walked away & the ex was still in love with her. Recently I have found out that not only did they keep in contact the last 3 years, my partner didn’t walk away from anything, and they spent a lot of time together in the last three years. They stayed with eachother, took road trips and holidays together & led my partners dad to believe they were still together. Yet she claims she never cheated. She was telling people i was her mate & she was using a friend’s name if she was staying with me. My partner has even told me she used other peoples phones etc to contact her ex so I wouldnt see.
For context. The ex issue has always been there, I knew in my gut something was going on but everytime i bought it up I was told I was paranoid & made to believe it was all in my head. My partner lived in the north, me in the south & she had a house in the south she was living at until we moved in together. She went to the north island for a personal reason for 8 months, told me she was staying somewhere but was staying in her old house but apparently the ex wasn’t staying with her. It’s almost as if she was living a double life & im her dirty little secret. In 3 years I have met 1 friend she sees maybe once every 5 years & her mum for 5 seconds. No other family or friends. She also always had some reason I couldn’t travel to her.
What would you guys do? Literally lied to my face & hid things for the entire 3 years we’ve been together, yet is begging me to stay & telling me she didn’t cheat & she’s not the past, what she did was wrong, it won’t happen again, she’s sorry bla bla bla.
