My son has just finished his GCSE exams. He really struggled with social anxiety (possible autism) we have been told. He did online learning at home during year 11. Now he is refusing to enrol at college. He also needs to retake his English GCSE but the anxiety is preventing him from signing up for this at college. The government says he has to be in education or training until age 18. Can I please ask for advice on what to do next?

My son missed the last 3 years of school and no gcses he doesn’t go to college either but now works full time x
it’s government guidelines it’s not the law, they can actually go out to work if they prefer, my son left school after gcse and had worked ever since. hated the idea of college
He can get a job if he doesn’t want to go to college. Or maybe an apprenticeship would suit him better
