If your baby is sleeping with their mouth open, if they’re colicky, if they’re snoring, if they’re tense, if they have lip blisters (seen here), if they have a white milk-tongue, or if they’re drooling excessively, they may not be getting that tongue up where it was designed to be. Tongue tie releases with lasers are often the go-to, which I did with both of my babies, but they should be the first or only solution. You can start by doing body work, seeing a pediatric chiropractor, an IBCLC to learn stretches for the mouth and tongue, and even gently press in the soft spot jntheir their chin to help them close their mouth while they sleep. Look for the tongue to suction against the food of the mouth to stimulate the vagus nerve. Often babies who mouth breathe end up relying on the pacifier or their thumb to stimulate their vagus nerve because their tongue isn’t functioning properly. Share this with a friend who’s baby sleeps with their mouth open! 🤍 Let me know if you have questions! As a mom who’s been through it and a pediatric therapist! #sleepingbaby #newmom #newmomtips #pediot #otmom #tonguetie #ibclc
