Private post please – I am splitting up with my partner and he’s kicking me and my son out of our private rented house now my friend has offered to have me and my 18 month old for a few weeks but she lives in a housing association house and works 16 hours, would she be able to move me and my son in for a few weeks until we get emergency housing or would it affect her house and money she gets?

Are you both named on the tenancy agreement? If so he legally can’t kick yous out. Not sure why he’d kick out the mother of his kid and his child.
If you don’t work, your friend having you shouldn’t affect her money. As you’re in care of.

Have you been to speak to the housing at your local council ? Some councils may see you leaving as making yourself homeless . If it’s just his name on the lease then that is different. Please explore all options before you do leave .
He may not legally be able to kick you out. It will depend on who is on the tenancy agreement. Are you on the agreement yourself?
You can move in with her and let the council know it’s because you’re homeless with a child, get her to write you an eviction notice (doesn’t have to be the day she’s kicking you out for real) give it to the council and say this is when I need to be out by and they’ll help you get temporary emergency housing faster 😊
If you’re on the tenancy agreement – don’t leave, and he can’t make you!!
