Hello i need some advice. My kids are under a court order to see there dad. Over the past 6 months to a year hes done nothing but let them down, put his new partner before them, make them feel uncomfortable my poking and prodding them when they have said they dont like it among other things. Because of the court order I have been telling them the have to go and they are both very distressed about it and I no longer feel comfortable making them go. Any input on where I would stand if I said they dont want to go and what else I could do

  1. I could of wrote this myself!!
I was advised by my solicitor and social services to make my son available but if he says no then no is no.. dad turns up at my house and my son point blank refuses to go with his he’s nearly 9..

  2. You have a duty of care as a mother with parental responsibility to safeguard your children. You can exercise this over a court order as long as you have valid reasons. The children’s voices need to be heard so advocate for your children and put their wishes and feelings first xx
