PPP please.
Any advice for a nearly 15 yr old boy who doesn’t enjoy school – but still goes – and is doing the bare minimum and i cant even imagine him studying for the Nat 5 exams next April. We have had a couple of things from the school saying he needs to do more for dome subjects – revise and practical stuff…. i know he is capable. I am not putting pressure on him and just want him to do his best and make his best effort – even if he doesn’t pass them – as long as he tries.
He is a very closed book and is hard to talk to when it comes to “stuff” of importance. He is our only child.
I am really struggling in that i am worrying about not being a good mum and “i should be doing this and that”. -its over whelming. He shuts down easily and the more i go on- which i have stopped – the more he wont do something.
I just feel alot of pressure to be getting it all right for him and being able to talk to him about stuff – but it’s really hard when he isnt easy to talk to. We dont even go in the car much as we dont often need to so i cant even use that opportunity to chst with him. I feel like my son has to try and fix it all himself as
In he always says he doesnt need help – or deep down – he lacks confidence and its all an act and he is possibly thinking why bother – as i will fail anyway.
Is this normal? Does anyone else feel so overwhelmed? For context i am an emotional, soft person and hate confrontation and just want to help him.
Sorry for long offload 🥰
