Ppp.

Not exactly mum advice.

I have been a constant in my niece and nephews life since the day they were born. My nephews 11 and my niece is 8. My sister their mother is a very difficult human, shes hard to describe but shes very opinionated and doesn’t think twice before saying something that might insult or offend others she also has extremely high expectations of people. She doesn’t speak to any of her or her husbands family meaning that my big brother and me were the only two family members that were in the kids lives. Now i know I was a great aunt, I took both kids on holiday, to festivals, to their favourite shows. Always spoilt them at Christmas and birthdays always called on first days at school, I’d change my shift at work to help my sister with a sitter even though I only got one Saturday night off a month. The kids and i were very very close. They loved me as much as I loved them. Anyway I fell out with my sister months ago due to her talking down to me and just being super nasty. Things have then got worse over time between us till it came to blows and I lost my head and told her a few home truths but now she has stopped all contact with my niece and nephew. I havent seen them in over a month. I have to go through my brother in law to ask how they are. I asked if I could call them after their first day back at school but got told the signal in their new house was rubbish and they didnt have WiFi yet. Im also 30 weeks pregnant after years of losses and infertility. When I told my niece I was having a baby she was so upset because she thought she’d be replaced and I’d not love her as much. So im worried about what my sisters doing to her head knowing that thats how she felt and then basically not letting us see each other. To my niece its going to look like I’ve tossed her to one side now im having a baby. I find the whole situation so so sad. They should be on this journey with me and get to be the best big cousins 💔💔 to many people use their kids as ammunition. What should I do next? How do i maintain a relationship with the kids but keep my sister at arms length for my own peace and sanity??

  1. I fell out with my sister. Honestly just one argument can damage everything. We was going to an event we both made different choices apparently I was in the wrong and I’m the one who judged so now that I felt like I’m always gonna be judged (I didn’t judge they judged me for apparently judging them) I now feel judged regardless to what I do and I stress enough daily not to want to feel with feeling judged by my choices. The home truths weather they are honest or not maybe not always accurate or seen the same by the other person. We all see things differently. I have little ones I’d love to have in my life and my kids always crave family but honestly there’s no way forward. If they mean the world just maybe keep trying to reach out, apologise for actions, we not spoken it 2 years in December. Nothing else you can do
