My 15 year old is adamant she wants to start using tampons, I’m not sure if it’s quite right as it’s quite invasive going into her private area, I’m also worried about toxic shock or her thinking dirty thoughts.

Tampons are far cleaner IMO just explain to her how to use them properly and dont make her feel as if shes dirty your maken it weird by saying that

Thats the most hilarious thing ive read 🤣🤣🤣 ive been using tampons since my first period at 12yrs old, on the first day of using pads, i realised I had sensory issues and asked to use tampons and havent looked back!
Are you a mum? If so, if you still have periods, why not give them a whirl yourself and check if you have any ‘dirty thoughts’? Dont knock it until you try it! Actually, I challenge you to try and have ‘dirty thoughts’ when using tampons! 🤣

Yes my teen can use tampons. We talk about the need to change them often. She prefers period underwear. Tampons have nothing to do with thinking dirty thoughts. But her being 15 with hormones she probably is thinking about things that you might not want her to (but they aren’t dirty).
I used tampons from day one at 12 years old until menopause. Never a problem and tampons are in no way sexual.
My daughter’s generation and most of their friends don’t as they’ve read so many have toxic ingredients in them. They love period panties and even have period bathing suits. It’s all they’ve ever used. It’s so simple and you can rinse them in the sink or just throw in the wash. They seem to last for years so far.
