Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright’s baby name explained after couple welcome first child
Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright have given their daughter a unique name.
Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright have become first-time parents, choosing a rather unique name for their newborn.
The pair welcomed their daughter, Palma Elizabeth Wright, on March 6th and took to social media on Wednesday to share the joyous news with their followers. They posted a touching black and white photo of their baby girl’s tiny hand in theirs, captioning it: “Together we have a new love to share… Our little girl. Palma Elizabeth Wright. 06.03.25.”
Congratulatory messages poured in for Michelle and Mark following the birth of their daughter.
Fitness guru Joe Wicks commented: “Ffs I’m crying over here. I know how much you’ve wanted to be a dad and you’ll be an amazing dad too. This is the most beautiful thing to see. So happy for you both.”
Jane Danson, known for her role as Leanne in Coronation Street, chimed in with: “huge congratulations. It’s the best x,” while Marvin Humes wrote: “Massive news! Congrats guys, over the moon for you.”
The official Coronation Street account also paid tribute to the couple:, writing: “Congratulations to you both. Love from everyone here at Corrie x.”
It appears that the couple may have drawn inspiration for their baby’s name from a recent holiday to Spain.
They announced the thrilling news with a beach photoshoot, and just weeks prior, they had enjoyed a romantic getaway to Palma de Mallorca, reports the Mirror.
Sharing some snaps from her pre-Christmas getaway, Michelle wrote: “Just a couple of days in our fave place before the Christmas build up begins,” along with pictures showcasing the local cuisine, coffee shops, and picturesque views.
The beach photos appear to have been taken in the sunny climes of Palma de Mallorca, and intriguingly, none of the initial images Michelle posted showed her facing the camera, sparking rumours that she might be concealing a baby bump in those early shots.
Michelle has previously spoken candidly about the intense scrutiny surrounding their marriage when they didn’t immediately start a family post-wedding – but now she feels more empowered to set personal boundaries.
“Around the time we got married, I was open about the fact that I wanted to have a family but then, because we didn’t choose to have children within a certain time, there was lots of speculation,” she reflected last month, “And we can handle that but, at one point, there was a story every week.”
“My family was asking me about it, so I made the decision to not talk publicly about that side of my life. I’m going to be 38 this year and, as I’ve got older, I feel more confident about my boundaries,” she added.
