The eighth seeded Connecticut Huskies took down the ninth seeded Oklahoma Sooners 69-57 in the First Round of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament on Friday, March 21. The game saw UConn forward Liam McNeeley finishing with eight points, six rebounds and one assist.
McNeeley is one of the top NBA draft prospects, who entered the season as a sharpshooter. While the Huskies have had a wavy season, McNeeley has shown his presence on the court and averaged 14.5 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. He is shooting only 39.1% from the floor and has an average 5.2 threes from his 11.2 points per game.
He was named the Big East Freshman of the Year last week, and earned a spot in the McDonald’s All-American Boys Game in 2024.
