I am a dad looking for advice
I have a 12 year old daughter who of course ive looked after her whole life but we’re at the point of bra shopping, periods etc and ill be honest im not not how to deal with at all. Can it be anonymous please

Regular with wings for day night time ones for night Have them already at home. Grab her a little make up bag build her an emergency pack to have in her school bag spare underwear the pads can get the little toilet wetwipes to clean herself up if it happens at school so shes prepared. It maybe embarrassing but she will thank you that you thought ahead and she was prepared. As for bras book online at your local department store for a fitting M&S is great if your in the UK and let her pick out a few when she knows her size take her for lunch or starbucks after.
I would start by asking her what she has learned about periods at school. See if she has any questions but be honest with her if you don’t know the answer. You can research, online will be easiest but not always the most trusted imo. If you have female friends, that you feel comfortable enough to ask, see if they could offer advice to you and/or her.
I regard to bra shopping, I’m not sure if there any places that measure (she may aslo not feel comfortable with this). I would suggest to start with some ‘soft’ bras that would mostly resemble a sports bra (when I was younger they were called training bras but may be different now)
When she is a bit older and more comfortable, she will know her own body better and willore than likely get some if she tends to go shopping with her friends.

You could take her on a normal clothes shop.and bring underwear into things and then find a female member if staff and ask them if they could arrange a fitting for her. They will usually help handle things from there. Atleast u have bit the bullet for future shopping so it won’t be awkward next time. As for periods u can go onto amazon and type in period starter pack which will have all the things she needs, they also sell books on there with a period diary etc. The schools also usually do a talk around year 7 or 8 about this with the girls. Unsure if that is every secondary school
Hi take your daughter to a store like marks and spencer and they will be able to help your daughter with the bra side of things,they’re really good,most schools do age appropriate education regarding periods and give the girls information on pads and stuff,sounds like your daughter has a really caring dad 💗
I love this what a lovely dad you are maybe speak to her and see what she already knows and take it from there also for bras maybe take her to. M and s shopping or maybe your mum sister or friend she’s comfortable with could if not you and her go. Keep doing what your doing sounds like she has an amazing dad
dad, you are doing great, book her in for a bra fitting with m&s etc and a good book about growing up etc and any questions you will try to answer but if not sure you can always book a app with nurse to discuss all this with her
I think we have covered bras with M&S measuring service. If you can talk to her about periods, she can probably tell you what she thinks she will want to use. Take her shopping to boots or superdrug for example & let her pick her own pads & or tampons. Alternatively look at places to buy period pants. Her friends can probably recommend. She might want to look online. Is their a female relative that could get involved an aunt or a grandma?
Periods. Buy period pants and all pads you can find.
Doesn’t particularly matter what brand in my opinion, but make super you have regular,and nighttime ones.
Tampons INCASE that’s her preferred choice.

Bras. I guess you could take her to get measured if she wants to do that, for my girls, we started way at the beginning of training bras
