What is the best bit of advice you were given as a new mum that you still hold closely now? For me, it’s that the cot is a safe space. Need space to cry? Put the baby in the cot. Feeling overcome with a new rage you’ve never experienced before? Put the baby in the cot. Overwhelmed and overstimulated? Put the baby in the cot. Yes the baby might cry, but putting them in their cot, closing the door and taking 5 minutes to yourself to be able to breath and be the best mum you can be is more important.
