Can I have a post please. My daughter is starting year 10, the year her gcse journey begins.
I am really panicking as a mum that I dont know how to support her with this, I failed all of my GCSEs but dont want the same for her.
How can I support her without pushing her too hard, what tools and advice can I use to help her get in the right mindset.
She is academically ok but if she is anything like myself when it comes to coursework/tests she may crumble and I don’t want that pressure for her.
Please any key points/ideas welcome.
She is quiet in school and likely not to ask for help so feel like I am her only hope!!! Thanks

Mu daughter just completed hers this year and unlike myself got 6 passes !! The best thing you can do is talk supportive not dictate, me and my daughter when we got a time table for her first mocks set up our own revision time table on ehat she had to revise each night, you have to trust that she is doing the revision not hound her to do it otherwise she’ll probably rebel and refuse even more, we also offered an incentive for her actual gcses so she got £10 for every grade 4 and above so currently this month shes rinsed us of £60 😆 🤣 we also told her if she passed maths (the subject she struggled with) she would get £50 but she was 8 little marks off a pass so will have to resit it alongside her level 3 college course… my daughter isn’t academic at all she struggles to retain information but she aced her gcses xx
The school will help as well. Ensure she makes time for her studies but no overwhelm her take each day as it comes.
Buy some of the CGP books and print of past papers and answers for her to go through. Give her some quiet time a dedicated space to work. A routine.
Maybe you can also help with testing her on things.
Loads of ways to support.
Firstly there loads of resources to use on YouTube etc. I would talk to her and explain it’s better to do little and often right from year 10 through to the end. Use flash cards etc this can all be explained in videos if you search up. Also a decent sized whiteboard up in her room she can use to scribble down revision hot topics etc I’m on this journey too with my eldest, good luck
