Hi all ,
I went anonymous to protect my daughter. She doesn’t want anyone to know, that may know her lol.
My daughter started her period last year at the age of 11.
She just turned 12 and asked if she should start shaving her legs, because she is having noticeable dark hairs.
I have no idea where to start. I want her to have a sensitive shaver for her skin, but also one that’s safer ‘if that’s even possible ‘.
Any recommendations would be super and very much appreciated.
Thank you all xx

My daughter is now 10, she asked just before summer to shave her arm pits as she had thick black hairs so I helped her.
She mentioned about her legs and I said when she is a bit older we can discuss it. But I will probs look into imac/veet
Waxing is a good idea, it’s not too hard to learn and there are plenty of products that make it easy. The benefits are that the hair doesn’t grow back as fast or thick, and it’s less skin irritation compared to shaving. It’s worth giving a try. 🙂
Estrid are great maybe start by doing it for her letting her try in the areas that are less tricky like down the side of the calf rather than close to ankles or knees she will be fine little pressure is needed because the razor does its job even with light strokes. Of course as she learns she may get little nicks and cuts here and there but who doesn’t we all have to have a positive role model for basic hygiene and sort care 🥰
My daughter was 10 when she started her period and the leg hairs got quite bad as time went on. She is now 12 and I gave her the option to shave or wax and she went for waxing and it’s an absolute breeze for her. Longer lasting results and already with only 3 waxes they are growing in a lot finer now. She only started waxing in May. My daughter is actually 3 years advanced in her body all confirmed by endocrinology so she doesn’t look like an average 12year old xx
Use veet if you’re concerned about using razors, when my daughters got to that stage I showed them how to shave safely but each to their own as every child is different x
Wilkson sword my intuition quattro – i hv very sensitive skin and its the only one that doesnt give me a rash/cuts
My 12 year old uses veet sensitive. Iv said no to razors!
An electric razor can work.
I use veet on my daughter no razor involved x
I got my daughter an epilator at that age, easier and safer than a razor.
