I have just split with my husband we were together for 6 years and I have a 7 year old son from a previous relationship, he does not see his biological father.
My recent ex would like to have half and half custody and said he will fight for access to him, yes my son sees him as a father and calls him dad but he’s my bloody son.
Does he have any rights to my boy as we are still classed as married but obs not my boys dad

Id say if they r close then let him see him, ud be hurting the child as much as him otherwise, if hes been the father figure raising him then why not, regardless as to what happened between the two of u the fact he still wants to have access to ur son says alot about how much love he has for him
he has no right as he’s got no pr being on birth certificate.. but I think it’s sweet that he still wants to be apart of your sons life as he helped raise him from a baby and your son knows him as dad. All depends if you split up on mutual grounds or if there was abuse/ toxicity, whatever is in your sons best interest, but your son may want to see him and could be confused especially if he has no contact with bio dad x
He sees him as a father and calls him dad , then that’s his Bloody son as well , he may not have rights but it’s way more than that you need to do what’s best for your son, if he wants to see his dad half of the time then that’s what you need to do
What is your issue with this? Your son has a dad. Maybe not a biological one, but he wants to be involved.
Is that such a bad thing?,
No rights! But what about the bond between them? From your son’s side mainly! It’s lovely he still wants to be dad but I don’t know your personal circumstances
If he’s brought him up and loved him like a son then why shouldn’t he be aloud to have custody?
What would be in your son’s best interests? Put anger and biology aside.. from what you’ve said.. this is who your son sees as his dad..
What does your son want?
Whoever is on his birth certificate has the say
Ask your son what he wants
