My l1 is 5 and me and my partner worked hard for the last year or 2 to make her happy and comfortable to go to bed by herself note we are literally the room next door and she been amazing at going to bed and going to sleep by herself recently my partner has gone back to staying in her room and waiting for her to go to sleep he just sits there on his phone or reading a book and I know it’s just a dad trying to settle her quickly but I know when he on late shifts / not at home she going to be screaming the house down for him to be in the room and I’ll be the bad guy for not sitting and waiting for her to fall asleep

You’re not going to be the bad guy, your partner has built a rod for both your backs going back to sitting in her room. He needs to do what you did before to get her back to where she was before
