Samay Raina has finally reacted to Ranveer Allahbadia’s controvery on his show India’s Got Latent, where the podcaster made distasteful ‘parents sex joke’. He appeared before the Maharashtra Cyber Police in Navi Mumbai on Monday and expressed regret over the remarks and shared that they were made in the heat of the moment.
“I feel deep regret for what I said. It happened in the flow of the show, and I had no intention of saying it,” Raina said in his statement. “I realise that what I said was wrong,” he added.
Apart from netizens,
Allahbadia was slammed by the Supreme Court for his crass joke. “Such behaviour has to be condemned. Just because you are popular, you cannot take society for granted. Is there anyone on earth who would like this language? There is something very dirty in his mind which has been vomited. Why should we protect him,” the court said, according to Bar and Bench.
“Would you rather watch your parents have s*x every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?” was the question Ranveer Allahbadia posed to a contestant. And as expected, social media users had reactions.
Recently, the Centre aka Information and Broadcasting Ministry has warned Social media channels and OTT websites to follow the Code of Ethics prescribed in the IT Rules (2021) and ensure self-regularisation critically to implement ‘access control’ on ‘18+ content’ so that children could avoid inappropriate content.
The notification from the Centre said that it had received the complaint about the “spread of obscene, pornographic, and vulgar content by certain publishers of online curated content (OTT platforms) and social media”.
