I feel so stuck I have 4 children adults but youngest has autism at 9 years old, Im single , I think I have to work, I’d like to tbh, but I don’t want to leave him on his own and don’t have a baby sitter, so I can’t work evenings or weekends people say he will be okay a few hours but I don’t want to, but jobs want people who work weekends,after school or drive which I can’t do, my older 3 are adults working every weekend, moved out etc, so I have no one , my son has dla income

I think if you claim carers allowance for your 9 yr old your commitments to look for work gets turned off? It’s worth looking at or ask about it or find work when LO is at school xx
Depending on what job you want to do. Some when they hear you’re on carers ect can be more flexible as long as you state it in interview. And show a passion for the job. I wouldn’t personally leave him on his own not even for a few hours. Is there any way he can do after school clubs or breakfast clubs if not after school to extend your day and give you more chance for school work. If you’re looking to work in a school a good tip is start volunteering as a reader then a lunch time supervisor and get your foot in the door. Start showing up for any events at school and take an interest in news letters. If that’s not for you then maybe consider part time at a nursing home or as bank or agency staff then you can work your own hours. Xx
