Sidelying is such a great position for your baby! It can be done from birth and alternated with back and tummy time, even as a newborn. You can lay them on their side and put a pillow or blanket against their back, lay them with their back against a couch, or you can help them stay there with your hands. Sidelying makes it easier for them to bring their hands together and reach for toys, helps them strengthen their neck and trunk, prep for rolling, and is a good position to alternate pressure on their head to keep it from getting flat.
