Hey, just looking for some moral support really. I had my period 29th August – 3rd, stopped, and have now been bleeding again for 8 days. Even on the 8th day it is still very heavy and I am absolutely terrified to get checked incase it’s something serious. I seen my mum go through ovarian cancer ( although not blood, my adoptive mum ) and one of her symptoms was bleeding. I have a 9 year old and 1 year old and I am so so scared. I have been bloated but this morning I woke up and the bloating was away which is weird cause I am usually bloated anyway. 8 days isn’t normal for me especially being so heavy and still passing clots too.
Please no scary stories, Everything is going through my head 😭

It could be a number of things, the best thing todo is make a GP appointment. Maybe take a friend or partner for moral support. Its better to see a GP and find out exactly what you are dealing with rather than your head going to worse place.
You definitely need to see your GP, I started having non stop bleeding in my mid 30’s 24/7 with huge clots,after seeing my GP and tests I was diagnosed with fibroids which are benign tumours in the womb.
About 3 yrs later I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism which is an under active thyroid, after lots of research I found out that this condition can affect women’s menstrual cycles/fertility and I believe it was the cause of my bleeding problem.
Your GP can arrange for tests/scans, I had to have 10 emergency blood transfusions due to severe anaemia caused by the bleeding.
Don’t assume it is the worst news and go see your GP
Get hormonal bloods done and scan i was like this and had pmos. But a gp needs to see you not the Internet
Also can be low progesterone, hormones swing wildly after pregnancy for couple years & especially if in ones 30’s versus 20’s. Do you have a physician or nurse practitioner you like? Maybe get some referrals for a more integrated type of practitioner.
After I had my first I bled for 4months, saw gp put me on the pill and it was sorted. If really worried take a trusted friend with you.
U might have fibroids can cause bleeding get it checked only takes a few mins
I’m the same, I got norethisterone from my gp & still bleeding. I’ve just been diagnosed with Adenomyosis with no treatment plan☹️
Did you have one or both of your children by caesar? My caesar scar created an isthmocele, which is a pocket that can cause extended bleeding. The doctor gives a clotting medication that has worked for me both times it happened.
The best thing you can do is go to your GP. I know it’s scary and sometimes the unknown can feel worse. It’s better to go and find out than leave it. You know you’re body and you’ve recognised something that isn’t normal for you. Book an appointment at your local GP and take one step at a time, but, most importantly, please make the necessary steps even though it may seem worrying.
You don’t know until you get it checked. Get a friend or a family member to go with you for support.
