Getting into Quadruped! 👋🏻 I am a pediatric occupational therapist and a mom who is passionate about early childhood. Sharing with you the building blocks to a thriving development. The quadruped position, where a child is on hands and knees, is a crucial precursor to both crawling and walking, It helps develop core strength, coordination, and balance needed for these movements. Encouraging your baby to get into and hold this position is a great way to support their motor milestones. Start with bending baby’s legs into a frog leg position where both knees and hips are bent to the sides as shown in video, tuck the legs under themselves. You can hold your hand under baby’s belly for better stability or bend them over a pillow or your leg for extra support. Please note, this may be early to implement if your baby cannot hold themselves up on straights arms for a prolonged period during tummy time. Follow for more baby + toddler tips, activities and free guides to make your parenting life smoother 🫶🏻 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #momsoftiktok #crawling #occupationaltherapist #babymilestones #pediatricoccupationaltherapist #childdevelopment #toddleractivities #developmentalmilestones #newmom #parentingtip #sensoryplay #earlydevelopment #babyactivities
