Nick Cannon, Father Of 12, Says He’s Open To Having More Children
Nick Cannon’s journey into fatherhood may be far from its finale.
On Monday’s episode of “We Playin’ Spades,” Cannon’s podcast with comedian Courtney Bee, the topic of vasectomy found its way onto the table. Former football players and podcast guests Ryan Clark and Channing Crowder confessed to having undergone the procedure.
Attention turned to Cannon, who has fathered 12 children with six different women, including singer Mariah Carey.
“I feel like this is an intervention,” Cannon joked after Crowder said the actor needed to think about having the procedure done.
The former athletes told their vasectomy tales, a topic Cannon is not privileged to have insider intel on — but that didn’t stop the comedian from adding his two cents.
“[A vasectomy] is the responsible thing to do, but I’m not done,” the actor admitted, with a grin.
Cannon went on to explain that he had no concrete plans for who his next bundle of joy would come from.
He then added, I’m “leaving it to the Lord.”
The “Drumline” actor, however, did offer up something more concrete: In the spirit of the podcast’s namesake card game, he proposed a bet. If he and his partner lost, he’d go for a “vasectomy consultation.”
Last June, Cannon shared his Father’s Day plans with People. During the interview, Cannon said he wanted to give his tribe of children the “opportunity to connect” with him and surprise him with some tokens of their affection.
“It’s supposed to be a day where I get to rest, but I want to give all my kids the opportunity to connect and give me gifts and all that type of stuff,” Cannon told the outlet. “It’s a fun day, and I appreciate all the love that I get on that day.”
