Mother says tractor protest woke up her baby
A mother got in touch to say that a protest that took place yesterday evening woke up her sleeping child.
Residents in and around London Road were startled last night Thursday, March 20, when three tractors drove up and down blasting their horns.
The protest was allegedly conducted by a group of farmersĀ as BBC Question Time was being filmed at the University.
The minister appearing wasĀ the head of DEFRA Steven Reed.
Laura Moffitt wrote to The Chronicle and said that the tractors woke up her sleeping baby due to their horn blasts.
She also mentioned that this is the second occurrence of its kind this year as there was allegedly another protest earlier in February.
“I don’t know anything about why on earth they are doing this so late, but if you report it again can you add it is a complete public nuisance,” she said.
“This is the second time it’s happened and it wakes up my baby!
“People should have the right to protest, but not late at night in a very built-up residential area after most small children will be in bed! Completely inconsiderate.”
The police were contacted if they would like to comment, and they acknowledged that the protest was peaceful and no criminal activity was recorded.
