I believe my sister was abused by our father

Dominique Pelicot’s eldest son has sided with his sister Caroline over her claim that she was drugged and raped by her father, as her mother was.

David Pelicot’s pledge to be “by [Caroline’s] side in this struggle” could open a rift with his mother Gisèle, whom his sister has accused of being reluctant to believe her.

Gisèle Pelicot won worldwide praise for her dignity as her husband was tried and convicted of raping her and inviting dozens of other men to their home in southern France to do the same.

However, her daughter has voiced anger with her for not backing her claim. In a recently published book, So That We May Remember, Caroline Darian described her mother’s stance as “a point of no
