I need advice on as a first time mum. My son is nearly 4 and I work full time. As school do school holidays my job won’t allow me to take this time off for it. What options has been gone with to work around this? Would prefer not getting a sitter.

If he’s summerborn (1 April – 31 August) you can send him to school next year when he is Compulsory School Age. He’ll do another year of funded childcare and start in reception Flexible School Admissions for Summer Borns (England)
Local holiday clubs
Need to put in a flexi contract request at work – pretty sure all places do this
Also nurseries do places for holidays if he’s funded you can ask them to split his hours so he’s yearly and not just term time
But also if your work doesnt understand child care then they’re ridiculous and shouldn’t refuse time off at all
I have to take AL where possible and then thankfully my mum has him for the rest.
