Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone might be able to advise me. My son was just 2 marks off a Grade 4 in Maths, so he couldn’t get into the grammar school on results day. We spoke to the Head that day, and she said she would hold a place for him if his review came back as a Grade 4.
The review is still ongoing, but his private tutor has gone through the papers and believes there could potentially be around 6 marks that should have been awarded. I’ve contacted the school to explain the situation and asked them to hold his place, but they’ve now said two of the subjects he wanted are already full.
If the review comes back as a Grade 4, does anyone know what our rights/options are or who we should appeal to? It feels really unfair if he misses out on the place simply because the exam-board review took so long. Any advice would be really appreciated.
