Hi can I have a personal post please. I need some advise on what to do, im 22 weeks pregnant iv been signed off work since April I tried to return to work but lasted 2 days then I was signed back off. There’s many reasons why depression, anxiety, pregnancy pain extreme pelvic pain, high risk for preaclampsia, going to high risk unit at 28 weeks for daily bloody thinners an just about to do the glucose test next week, also medication alteration so I hadn’t been sleeping or able to drive.i thought I was ready to return but im clearly not. My boss said if im of sick at 29 week I get automatically put onto mat leave. I dont no if I should try again an attend work knowing its not the best option but moneys really tight or just take my sick leave an then my mat leave early but then that leaves less time with baby before returning to work. When I tried to return for them 2 days I went back with conditions I wasn’t overloaded with work or stress or full days,im a carer, I called sick on day 2 to be told no I had to go out an work. So now im fearing if I do return an need a sick day I get made to work, im due to see the midwife in 2 weeks an will speak to her, also doc due to phone next week but I dont suppose I will know how I feel till 28 weeks untill I get these blood thinners all I know is things will get harder, we get very little uc due to husbands wage. Leaving wouldnt be an option as would be entitled to no benefit, so what im asking is really do I try again an face a absent management disaplinary an try work an push threw my issues, or do I stay signed off some days I think im ok an other days are just a no go.im really stuck on what to do i known they say health comes 1st. Im 37 for reference so not classed as a young mum. Whats your opinions or advise on what to do. Thanks

I personally think it will look worse on u going back again and then having to go off sick I was in this situation and done the sick then early maternity leave at 29weeks and if ur not fully well enough to return I wudnt xx
I’m sure the only time you automatically get put onto maternity leave is if the sick leave starts within the last 4 weeks of pregnancy, so from 36 weeks? Definitely not 29…?
