Im separating from my partner of 6 years which I’m devastated about as we have a 6 month old. I never wanted to be a single mum but I suppose it’s best at baby’s age now rather than down the line.
Anyway I will need to find somewhere for me and baby to live, I’m really hoping to rent with the council as it’s so expensive privately & it’s not as secure.
How long after getting on the list did you get a permanent home? How long after making them aware were you put in temporary accommodation?
I’m currently privately renting with my ex partner and don’t know if they’d expect me to stay put (which I don’t want to do for obvious reasons)
Any advice or whatnot is very appreciated x

Of you leave you will be classed as making yourself homeless. If it’s domestic if contact women’s aid for support and guidance they can help you . You won’t get council house if you leave. Id apply for UC and they will help pay rent on a private property good luck
