Dressing my baby at night was always so stressful for me, especially in extreme weather. Hot babies have a higher risk of SIDS so it’s important to keep your baby cool at night. The Lullaby Trust has great advice on how to keep baby safe for sleep in hot weather. They recommend a room thermometer as it’s hard to guess. I have used the Tommee Tippee Gro Egg 2 thermometer both babies to track room temperature and guide dressing my baby at night. 1. Aim if possible for a room temperature of 16-20 degrees Celsius. 2. Open windows and doors to allow air to circulate but not in the highest heat of the day if it’s warmer outside. 3. Use a fan to circulate air, don’t point it directly at baby as they will get too cold just rotate in the room. 4. Use lighter layers, sleeping bags are good as have tog ratings and guides on how to dress baby. 5. Use a room thermometer. And if you’re ginger like me – good luck 🧡 #heatwave #hotweather #babysleep #sids #babyadvice #parentingtips #summer
