A question for mums in blended/different-father families ❤️

I’d really appreciate hearing from mums who have children with different fathers, especially those who come from more traditional families where it was always very much “same mum, same dad, siblings all together.”

Do you ever feel socially awkward, judged, or like your family situation is viewed differently by relatives or other people? And if you’ve experienced those feelings, how have you learned to deal with them???(I’m struggling heavily on this)

I’m particularly interested in hearing from mums whose circumstances weren’t necessarily something they planned or chose — for example, leaving a previous relationship because of domestic abuse, an unhealthy relationship, or other circumstances that were completely beyond their control. Sometimes life doesn’t follow the picture we originally imagined, and these situations can happen despite doing what is best for yourself and your children.

For those who have children with different fathers,

1) How do you manage communication and contact with the different dads?
2) How do you navigate child maintenance/child support and co-parenting when relationships with the fathers are very different? A willing father and an uncooperative one?
3) If your children are old enough to understand that they have different dads, have they ever asked questions or had feelings about it?
4) Have you had an open conversation with them about their family situation? If so, how did you approach it?
5) Have your children ever compared their relationships with their different fathers?
6) And perhaps most importantly, how have you felt about it all — particularly if you ever worried about being judged by family or society?

I’d really love to hear honest experiences, both positive and difficult. This isn’t intended as a debate or judgment of anyone’s choices — sometimes circumstances are complicated, and leaving a relationship can be the ***safest and healthiest decision for a mum and her children.**

If you’re comfortable sharing, I’d be especially interested in hearing how things have changed as your children have got older. ❤️
