Can I please have an anonymous post.
I’m 42 with five children; 4 girls and one boy. My 4th daughter is 17 and I fear we are all at breaking point.
She is extremely anxious and has been through all of her life. The past 12 months we have been monitoring her periods with her moods. She now going through a diagnosis of PMDD. It’s extremely hard on her, it effects every aspect of her life. She’s just started taking an SSRI obviously it takes time to work but I honestly do not know how much longer I can keep my cool.
Tonight she threatened to punch me in the face; I laughed it off because, seriously she’s a 17 year old child but the disrespect it’s unreal. I keep reminding myself what she’s going through – when I say it is hell I mean it- but I feel I’m living it with her and I just want to scream at her!!
I don’t know how to carry on, I’m at breaking point now.
She has a gynaecologist appointment in October and CAMHS in November (I’m thankful as I was told it was a 9 month wait but it’s only been two).
Has anyone been through this? Maybe you have lived it as a PMDD sufferer.
I don’t want to loose my relationship with her but at the moment I love her unconditionally but my god I don’t like her 😢😢😢

Perhaps reach out to her school and social services for support
If she’s 17 then camhs will see her once then say oh she’ll need adult services now coz she’s nearly 18, happened with my daughter when she was 17 x
I have pmdd and take the continuous pill to stop my periods, best thing I’ve ever done
