Can I have peoples opinions please, I am the eldest of 4 children and honestly had a wonderful childhood and my parents were very supportive and understanding.

I am the first out of my siblings to have a child and my son is now 2.

Growing up my parents were very open, and I’m not quite sure how to word it but maybe unashamed.

So they would have a shower and have no issue with walking across the landing naked, or my dad would often sit on the sofa naked to dry etc. if one of us were in the bath or shower they had no problem coming into use the toilet, none of this growing up felt weird, different or wrong etc.

However now I have my son I find it a tad strange when they still do this round him, and me as a grown woman.
Am I being over sensitive or a prude or would you say something

  1. My mum and dad used to always be naked but now mum is only sometimes appropriately naked like if we go swimming and getting changed, and dad is never naked. There’s no need unless you live with them? However my own kids see me naked and also invade my toilet despite me telling them to go away lol

  2. Your definitely not being dramatic when it comes to this, there is certain ages when things like this should stop and if you feel like it’s now uncomfortable and you don’t want your child seeing this then you can 100% say something, you have every right to.!

  3. My mum was very open about nudity. Dad not so. I grew up shy and embarrassed by showing my body off. I’m still coy about it today at 67 years old. My mum however now 87 still has no qualms about stripping down in front of me (we do holiday together) i think it’s me in the wrong but I actually think private parts are ugly and not for others to view.

  4. my own mum use to do this but i never have in front of my own kids (all now adults) i’d be speaking with them and asking them not to do it when your around now as it’s making you feel uncomfortable be honest with them hopefully they will understand

  5. Idk I feel like as they did it when you were younger it makes sense that they still do it and feel comfortable to however if this makes you feel unsettled or you find it strange and it’s to do with your child you have every right to be concerned and raise that with them in a nice way ❤️
