Can I have a private post please

Im a single mum to an almost 13yr old. Been single 7yrs. I suffer with severe OCD and mental health problems.

I work full time, run a house, 4 cats and my daughter. My daughters dad only sees her every other weekend (his choice) 6 months ago I started getting more friendly with someone I have known for 2yrs. He works away alot with work doing 2-3 month stints as a freelance chef. Back in July the job he was at didnt work out and he said he wanted to come home to me (he was living with his mum inbetween jobs). I agreed as its all I have wanted was him to he back with me and not working away. Anyway since he moved in it has applified my OCD so bad that Im struggling with him being here. Not only that he hasn’t got a job now. He said to stay working local it needs to be what he wants. Im struggling now financially to have him here as he smokes and drinks, more electric being used etc, buying more food shopping. We also have never been intimate. He told me he struggles in that department about 2 months ago when I questioned it he said I have to he patient. Im literally at breaking point now as I have other things going on that are also stressing me out and Im starting to regret letting him move it. Ive tried asking when is he going to get a full time job and he said he doesnt want to work full time as he still wants to do freelance work etc but for me financially that isnt viable. He needs to earn a regular income. I really dont know where to turn anymore. Im really struggling and him being here isnt helping

  1. A partner enhances your life and helps support you. A partner doesn’t leach you of your mental and physical resources in an already challenging position. I think you already know the answer and need to rip that plaster off.

  2. You just need to point blank say too him he needs too move out. It sounds like he just needed a place too stay and your being used. Especially with the no intimacy it seems strange. He’s not bringing anything too your life or household he’s only making you more ill so for me that’s a dealbreaker

  3. That’s a really difficult position to be in. Having extra mouths to feed and put a roof over is a big financial strain. Tell him he needs to make a meaningful contribution to the household or move out. If he values your relationship, he will do something to keep it.
