I am due my baby boy in September we are all very excited to meet him, unfortunately my father In law died 6 months ago obviously my husband and I were heartbroken but my Hubble wants to honour his dad and use his name for our son.
My fil was called bloody Nigel!!!! I cannot I repeat cannot have a baby called Nigel, I’ve suggested using it as a middle name but my Hubble is adamant he wants it as a first name…. Please any advice would be appreciated

Definitely a middle name,you’re still honouring him but at the end of the day it’s your baby too and you also have to love his first name!

Absolutely not. The tribute to his dad is that your son will be having his surname. My husband’s dad died before we had our son and I’m sorry I loved the old guy but I wasn’t calling my son Colin even as a middle name. They have the same surname, that’s enough.
