Hi, can you post anonymously please?

Hi ladies, I’m looking for advice.. please be kind.

I have a planned cesearen next week at 37 weeks due to the pregnancy being high risk. I also have a 5 year old who will be staying with my family while I’m in hospital.

I won’t go into to much detail, but I have posted on here before. My childrens dad left when I was around 28 weeks pregnant, attempted to come back a few weeks into the separation. Etc. I did stupidly try for about a week before I called it off for my own sake and my childrens.

Anyway, I’m going to be alone for the cesearen and hospital stay.. and I’m just wondering if anyone on here has been alone? Or has advice?

I’m going to hate being away from my daughter, and I’m really nervous about doing this alone.

( Their dad will be visiting once I’m home and settled with both children. )

Tia x

  1. I had a c section last September. I had 2 previous babies naturally. Personally for me comparing them I really would really recommend having someone there to help after your c section I cannot imagine doing the after alone after a c section. I’m sure the midwife’s will be very helpful if you are alone but I feel having a c section alone and the after would be a lot for someone. I hope it all goes ok for you x

  2. Do you have a friend that could be your birth partner or at least arrange for family members to operate a rota when you come out?

I’d really recommend having someone there at least when your post op as my experience is that they do just leave you to get on with it so you might need someone there to pass the baby to you and watch them while you go to the toilet etc. it all depends on how long you’ll have to stay in for.

Just something to consider. A birth partner doesn’t haven’t to be the dad. It could be a parent, a sister or a friend.

  3. I was in the same boat as you but had her naturally
If u have a village behind you, you will be ok
Ur first child will be fine too
Take this time to build a relationship with ur new born and take it all in
Once ur home accept everyone’s help and don’t be afraid to ask for help
U r stronger than u think and you have got this.
