Can I have a private post gem.

What do people use to help relieve migraines? I get one about every month/6 weeks, hormone related I think. I’m already on Amitriptyline, it effects my right side, an my eye (kinda like cluster), my eye streams an seems to close slightly. Hypersensitive to light an sound too. I drink plenty, paracetamol, codine if I can, i can’t take ibuprofen, what does anyone find helps?

  1. Daily propranolol was prescribed for me by GP to reduce the amount i was having which def helped, and then sumatriptan when i actually took one. They work great for me. Doesnt stop them completely but def an improvement from what i was suffering

  2. Speak to a doctor but if you can take aspirin they’re very good for migraines, the dose can seem big but it’s safe and works well. 300mg – 900mg. I’ve always put a cold flannel on the back of my neck also. Hope this helps.

  3. Ive tried most medications and all types of drs and tests
What helps me to relieve the pain is a cold pack and a heat pack one on forhead and ine on back of neck and alternate
Reheat and get another cold pack as needed but i think the cold and heat work together in some way to relieve the pressure

  4. Unfortunately it’s back to the doctor to be assessed for different meds. I’ve had migraines for 30yrs, have steadily got worse the older I got. It’s trial and error until you find the one that works unfortunately. Every migraine sufferer is so different, I’ve been hospitalised by mine as they thought it was a stroke or a bleed.

  5. Try getting a daith piercing on the side you get migraines. Doesn’t work for everyone but, if it does work, it really works. I was getting a migraine every week and after the daith piercing, maybe one every 3 months and not as bad. It’s been 8 years and made a huge difference
