For the last 15 years I have worked every Friday and Saturday night from 8pm til 8am in a care home, I took this job as my then partner and father of my daughter was home to care for her.
My ex and I split up a little over a year old and he sees her every other weekend.
My daughter is now 16 but I still get a babysitter in for the nights I work so I know she’s safe.
She is now kicking off as she feels that she is basically an adult and doesn’t need some middle age woman invading her house.
Would you say 16 is to young be left over night? Or am I just being over protective?

She’s old enough, maybe get the babysitter u have maybe nip in at nite once to check on her just to make sure she’s safe and she doesn’t need anything as a compromise
I leave mine alone. Hes sensible and just watches TV or on ps5 with his friends. Depends on if your daughter can be trusted or not only u know that
16 is perfectly fine to be left alone IF she can be trusted. It all depends on how much you trust her really. If she’s sensible then you know she’ll be fine.
If you feel she’s able to be left alone then I’d say go for it. I lived with my dad when I was younger and he worked nights, he used to leave me. Obviously made sure there was food in etc and I had my phone for emergencies should I need it x
If she’s mature enough I don’t see why not. You can make sure she’s feed before you go to work so she can maybe snack after it. Make sure she’s sets alarms for school get up you can lock the door when you go to work. Even get like a camera downstairs just to check in now and again.
She’s old enough to be left alone , set rules , no house parties , only use air fryer to cook and make sure she know an escape plan incase of a fire , she will be fine
At 16 she should be able to be left. Im presuming she has a phone? Do u have a ring doorbell?
You are being over protective. She could legally live on her own now
If you dont think shes mature enough or savy enough then work on that with her but shes right she is legally able to get married and have a kid too
Depends on if she is trustworthy or not and only you can answer that…
Is she likely to have parties etc..
Is she ok overnight?
Would she leave the oven / hob on etc…
I’d say if she was mature enough then yes, communication, promises to lock the door and not open it unless you’ve said. She’s old enough to be a carer and care for others or get a job so I don’t see why 2 nights at home herself would be a big deal. Some kids leave home and goto college/uni at that age. She’s basically a mini mini teen adult 🤣 if you think she’s responsible enough.
