I am a Hindu lady and in our culture we pierce our babies ears, every family member I know had this done as very small babies, ear piercing is a sacred ritual called Karnavedha in my religion however I was born and bred In England and do not follow as a devote following as my family members how can I explain that I will be holding off until my baby can personally ask to have them pierced

You don’t need to explain yourself to anybody. Your baby, your choice. If that’s not good enough for them, too bad.
Are they aware no is a full sentence? You don’t NEED to explain to ANYONE how you parent or your choices.
This is probs not very helpful x
Your baby your decision , and totally agree with you , I personally don’t think it’s safe or necessary for a very young baby to have their ears pierced x
Same in our Pakistani culture, I would explain to extended family that it is not the norm here and that you would like to take your time with it so your daughter can also have an input. Unfortunately not everyone will be happy about but when are they ever hapoy when we go against the grain. Stand your ground and once you have explained yourself dont keep repeating. Good luck xx
Your baby your choice 😊
