Please could I get opinions anonymously please?

My little boys dad has his birthday at the end of the month and has booked to go away with our child. But, he’s booked to go to Ibiza and in San Antonio… on an August bank holiday weekend.

He didn’t book a return flight home last time he took him away and ended up bringing him home a day later after ignoring my messages and calls for an entire morning the day he was meant to be home.

Am I wrong for putting my foot down and saying he’s not going?

Thank you!

  1. Whilst he should have communicated with you they were going to be a day late, I don’t think that warrants banning another holiday, tell him he needs to communicate effectively with you this time, but no, don’t stop your son getting the chance of a holiday

  2. Yes & no. Ask for all the details – flight numbers, contact details for where they are staying in case of emergency…a partner with the best interests of the child should be able to provide these & understand the need for your having the information

  3. Yes. He’s 100% as much right as you have to take him on holiday. You wouldn’t like it if he said you couldn’t take him on holiday.

Just because it’s ‘Ibiza’ doesn’t mean it’s going to be full of adults/alcohol- still also summer holidays.

  4. Definitely wrong. Allow him extra time. Be grateful & blessed hes wanting to make memories & giving him amazing experiences. 1 day is nothing. I wouldn’t stick to a set date as flights etc get cancelled all the time. Be lenient. Understanding & happy there is a dad willing to give his child the memories some unfortunately do not get

  5. Honestly yes! Ibiza is a beautiful place for families and children too.
Let him have an amazing holiday, extended if needed.
As long as it doesn’t affect plans or school etc! I’d be happy for my children to live their best life in Ibiza x
