I recently posted that my son has told me that his dad hits him and the advice was to get social services involved. I’ve made the referral and they have spoken to both my son and his dad. Dad admits to making threats to hit but denies ever hitting him. My son told them that his dad does hit him sometimes. Dad has agreed to work with the professionals and have parenting classes but our son is still left in his care. When I asked him to be kind to our son his response was “why? What have I done wrong now?”. I’m at a loss as he seems to think nothing has changed. To put it into context, he is a very controlling and manipulative man who will never accept fault for anything. I want to push for the child arrangements order to be amended as I feel that he is a risk factor towards our son. I’m in a much better place now physically and mentally since leaving and I’m not happy leaving my son in a potentially risky environment. Constructive thoughts would be appreciated 👍
