Could i have an anonymous post please.
I have an 11 almost 12 year old boy. Recently when going on Netflix I noticed that he had been watching sex life on his account.
He had got half way into series 2, he didnt really open up about anything with my husband (his dad) or me. He just said I can stop watching it if you want. Im not really sure where to go with this, feel a bit out of my depth.
Any advice, I don’t want to shame him as its a totally normal thing to look at things and explore out bodies.
Just a note we had took the age limit off netflix as he wanted to watch and is watching stranger things.

Personally i wouldnt be bothered, at the end of the day its just a drama series, yes its more of an older teen/adult drama but there’s nothing dodgy about it.
Like you said it’s perfectly normal to look at things and explore so I don’t really underhand what you’re waning from the post. Just explain to him that these shows and porn etc aren’t real (as in they are usually representative of peoples fantasy’s etc) and that sex likely won’t be like that for him etc
My son is 11 now too and I don’t think it’s so much of an issue, I suppose it depends how open minded you want to be about it. My thinking is if we make it a taboo thing it will make them feel bad/dirty about being naturally curious and then scared to come to parents with questions. Sex isn’t a dirty thing, it’s natural. I’m quite open and honest with my son, so if he ever asked a question about it I’d just answer truthfully so then he doesn’t feel like he has to hide anything or be sneaky/sheepish trying to find out things himself.😊x
I wouldn’t push it, as could make him less likely to open up about anything, just let him know that you are both there for anything he wants to talk about and approach everything with an open mind and be supportive. Hes at the age where hormones start flaring up and curiosity starts
Recently caught my 11 year old having some alone time. I’m just going to knock from now on.
It’s normal at that age, you don’t need to go anywhere with it now, as long as he knows he can talk to you or his dad if he wants to that’s all that matters.
