Hi mums ❤️ I’m hoping to hear from anyone who has been through something similar with their little one.
My 1-year-old has recently started head banging in his cot, and I’m feeling really upset and worried about it. It only happens in his cot, particularly when we leave him alone and he doesn’t want to settle.
He used to be a really good self-settler, but over the past little while he has stopped being able to settle himself. If we leave him in the cot, he becomes very frustrated and starts banging his head against the cot rails/bars.
The part that is really upsetting me is that it’s not a soft or gentle hit. He is hitting his forehead quite hard against the rails, to the point where he has actually left bruises on his forehead. 😔 It’s horrible to watch and obviously makes me very anxious.
Interestingly, he doesn’t do it anywhere else — it is only in the cot, when he is upset/frustrated and we leave him to try to settle himself.
I do have a paediatrician appointment booked and will obviously be discussing it with them, but as you can imagine, waiting for the appointment while seeing him do this has me feeling pretty worried.
I’d really love to hear from other mums whose 1-year-olds have gone through something similar.
I’m not looking for a diagnosis, just hoping to hear from mums who have experienced this and can share what happened and what helped. ❤️

How would you like to ve left alone in a room by yourself?? When you arent ready to settle
Ask your head that.
If he doesn’t do it anywhere else, why don’t you get him to settle somewhere else then transfer him to the cot
