I have a 5 month old girl who is being tested for urethra reflux, as it can be hereditary, my son had it as a baby/toddler and had the same tests. Unfortunately my daughter had a UTI at 4 months and they weren’t sure if it was due to the gastro bug she had or from urethra reflux.
What i would like to know is, she has to have a catheter next friday with dye injected and then an xray to see what happens, has anyone been through a catheter placement with a baby girl this young?
Is it horrendous?! Do i need to prepare for lots of screaming and after pain?!
With my son he didnt even flinch because i distracted him and he’s got a very high pain threshold, but he was a year old when he had his tests. Shes just so young ðŸ˜
Im absolutely dreading it but they need to catch it early to prevent kidney damage. Thanks for any help/advice
