Hello! I’d love if you were please able to post this anonymously and see if anyone can give me their advice …
I’m having my first child and hormones have made certain names sound way less “out there” than I ever thought prior (Angel being the main one) however people have said my other names aren’t acceptable either, please could you tell me if they’re crazy and any similar suggestions

I’m confused why the names you’ve wrote on here people are finding them not acceptable? Effie is adorable, Mila is adorable! Orla is adorable! Lola is cute. Unsure on the other two but that’s just my preference, it’s what you like that matters xx
I asked to be kept anonymous but I’ve realised it doesn’t really matter and I should really give some context – Im not bothered if people like the name I choose, however I do not want the name to make my little ladies life difficult or cause people to judge her poorly by her name as many people I’ve told this list to have laughed, told me I can’t use those names and said the hold will be bullied
Also I will be waiting until she’s born to make the decision, but I’d like a solid selection to choose from
It’s your choice- I’d wait until she’s born as often the name doesn’t fit the face. Isla is pretty.

We never told anyone our baby name choices. Just me and dad discussed names we liked and then once we met the baby we settled on a name that suited them 🙂 people are less likely to comment on the name once the baby is here 🙂 i think a lot of those names are cute. And nothing to weird or out there. We have 3 boys and they are called Nate, Luka and Ezra. Some people commented on not hearing them often, or wondering where we came up with them, or asking if they are short for anything but no negative comments about them. Its your baby and your choice and people will adapt to the name you choose 🙂 x
I worked with a girl called Orla, she was lovely. It’s an old Irish name meaning Princess. Hers was spelled Órlaith – also very pretty!
Doesn’t really matter about other people, it’s your baby. As long as you and your partner like it that’s all that matters, but maybe not too crazy 😜 your child has to live with it 🤣
Other people’s opinions shouldn’t matter. All the names you have chosen are beautiful. My daughter is named Mila, she has a classmate named Orla. You may also feel pulled towards a particular name once your baby is born and you’re looking at her. Don’t put pressure on yourself to picking one now and allow yourself to feel good about the ones you’re being pulled towards.
They all sound fine to me, I’d like to suggest Saira too, probable name of my daughter if I had one but I didn’t lol
I like Angel, think it be really unique, i’m not personally keen on the other names but they are not all bad it’s just something I wouldn’t name my child, but these days I would definitely name my child angel, I loved the name sky for my daughter but I thought that would be too out there back 30yrs ago, I am glad I didn’t name her that now as she’s not a sky
I think Mila, Orlagh and Lola are the only nice ones on your list. I can imagine some loud mouthed American shouting ‘Darla,’ Draxie sounds like a term used for a drag queen and Effie reminds me of F off. I was a teacher for 23 years so names to me are super important. I love proper names that can be shortened for example my youngest daughter is Alexandra after my sister and there’s lots of variations of it such as Alex, Lex, Lexi, Sandra. Everyone to their own but a ‘proper’ name with a meaning imho is important.
