  1. Ahh this is a really hard one and quite sad. What a shame he’s missing out on a wonderful daughter. I don’t know what’s gone on for him to not want to be in her life but men like this are waste of space. Does your daughter have any male role models in her life, like an uncle, grandpa? I’d tell her that her dad lives far away and can’t get to see her. I wouldn’t say he doesn’t want to know, not until she’s a bit older to understand then I’d tell her the truth. Do you at least have a photo of him to show her? She’s at that age where she’s noticing things like this and anything you tell her will probably not bother her as she’s so young. Good luck.

  2. I would tell her that all family’s are different and not everyone lives with there mummy’s and daddy’s but it’s ok that she dosnt see her daddy because she has lots of people who love her (name close pple around her ) and she gets extra cuddles from mummy x

  3. A different situation, but I tell my daughter the truth, but the child friendly version. She’s 5.
“We don’t see Daddy because he made some grown-up choices that weren’t safe or healthy for our family, and my job as your mummy is to keep you safe”

  4. Please don’t lie to your children! The long term impact isn’t something you can predict?!

Sit your daughter down and explain that families come in all shapes and sizes.. some families have a mummy, a daddy and some brothers and sisters, some families have 2 mummies, some have 2 daddies, some have granny and grampa to look after the children.. your family has a mummy and a lovely little girl.. and every family set up is absolutely fine so longs as the children have someone to love them and care for them 💓

  5. She’s only a toddler so for now I’d just say “I’ll explain when you’re a bit bigger” you’re not lying and you’re not ignoring her question…in my opinion she’s too young to know/understand the real reason
