My wee girl started p1 and I got a letter out to say about the nasal flu spray. I’m unsure what to do.. Will I get it or not I have heard scare stories about kids feeling terribly unwell.

My daughters 10 she’s asthmatic and has a compromised immune system she had it once (at 3) and it caused so many issues I have chosen to risk flu (she hasn’t had it yet) my youngest is 3 and won’t be getting it at all
My two had it last year and no issues whatsoever, and they are like their dad when they get sick they are awful 😢 but no completely fine afterwards, so glad they got it
Tbh my son had it last year and it was the worst winter for colds for all of us. But my 3yros were very light compared to the rest of us
None of mine have had it but yes my little girl got flu a few years ago she was really poorly for 2 weeks but she came through it ok and we managed it at home
My girls both have it every year and never had more than a mild cold
My kids are fully vaccinated but that’s one vaccine that they have never had, they are 10 & 13 now. I don’t believe that it’s necessary and the the risks associated with it aren’t worth the benefits to a healthy child
You’ll always hear scare stories from people with too much time on their hands . Very important vaccine as are they all .
It is important that you get the nasal spray to protect your child and other children around them. Yes they may be unwell for a little while, but there’d be far worse if they didn’t have it and got Flu.
Everyone is different but its like any vaccine they can be unwell after it for a short while but its better that then getting the flu and risking being alot worse
My kids got it until they realised they could get the injection instead – both prefer the actual injection
My daughter is 13 and has it every year, no issues.
