I don’t know whether I’m over reacting but I’ve been with my partner for 8 months & im 18 weeks pregnant. His family want nothing to do with me or my daughter (not his child) due to lies told about me by his ex! However they want to see their grandchild when it’s born but not me! Am I right to be annoyed or am I being hormonal? If I’m not good enough, my children aren’t good enough either

Tell them Good luck you & baby come as a package & your little daughter too . . I dont think theyll warm to you at all so give it a miss id say . . What is your boyfriend saying
I went through that with my kids. I would set boundaries. You can’t have a relationship with a child without being around the child. It’s not fair to the child. Stand up for yourself. They have no rights to your child.
tell them to do one ur kids ur choice
Of course you’re not wrong. If they don’t like you they don’t like your kids either
You’re definitely not overreacting. You’re not being hormonal, you’re being disrespected. If his family has chosen to believe things about you without hearing your side, but still expects access to their grandchild, I think it’s completely fair for you to set boundaries. You and your daughter are a package deal, they don’t get to exclude you but expect a relationship with your child. Being pregnant doesn’t mean your feelings aren’t valid either. ❤️
The family don’t get to pick apart yours. That’s cruel. You come with your babies and that’s that. Either they shape up or ship out simple.
Has your partner not got your back regarding the lies? As for them not wanting to see you or your daughter that is their loss on not getting to know you both, but I feel as biological paternal grandparents I wouldn’t spite them just because they hurt you, if your partner is a regular in their lives, It wouldn’t be fair to your child to not give them the chance to get to know family but I would also make them aware it may not be right away meeting the child as they have to take into account bonding, breastfeeding, you feeling confident leaving the child etc..
my most important thought in this is why isn’t your partner mediating? If he isn’t then doesn’t the problem lay with him.. If he is trying on your behalf then maybe the solution is cutting ties from toxic family members completely, you need to sit with your partner and discuss this at length.
You and the child come as a pair so they except you or I’d tell them to jog on
I get why ud be feeling that way, but don’t be that person who stops it, your child should be allowed to have relationships with relatives, this we come as a pair, what if you dont like someone, your child’s just not allowed to find out how they feel? Not fair on your child more than anything.
Sometimes the child can be the reason everyone starts to get along
