Sorry for your loss I know this is going to be very hard on you I just lost my son in March usually the funeral home will help you about getting the death certificate and getting all the paperwork on that loud and call social security
Once your arranged with a funeral directors you then need to make an appointment at registry office to register the death
They will then explain who you need to inform but they give you log in details for a tell us Once site so Once you go on the website they inform all relevant people. It will then be utility bills ect you need to contact. Sorry for your loss I went through this last year with my mum x

You need to register her death at your local registry office, but will need the hospital paperwork first. In the meantime, you can contact the Department of Work and Pensions to inform them of her death, on 0800 731 0469

They will then collect your mum ( embalm her if that’s your wishes) and take her to the chapel of rest. Just tell the funeral directors your wishes and they do the rest.
So so so sorry for your loss, it’s 10yrs since my mum passed away and I still miss her everyday, I even cried for her this morning. Take time to grieve it doesn’t happen overnight … God bless 🙏 💔😪xxx
So sorry for your loss. Our daughter passed away last November. i dont think it has changed much. The hospital will give you a what to do next booklet. You need to register her death with the registrars office. You have to book an appt but cant do that until the death notification has been sent to the registrars office. It takes a few days esp if its are looking at a cremation.When you register her they will issue you a death certificate. I would ask for about 4 copies for bank , life insurance etc it avoids hold ups. They will give you a form for the funeral director which allows them to get it all organised. If you hsve a company in mind , you could call them and have an initial discussion. I think the funeral is usually around 4 weeks after your loved one has passed away. Its up to you if you want to organise a wake for after the service. The registrar will send a notification to all agencies like pensions/ passport etc to save you doing it individually. I hope this helps. There’s no massive rush to get things done within a day or so.

Sounds mercenary but check her paperwork at home, she may have had a funeral plan or left a will. I have both.
